The passing by of Ramadhan and Syawal seemed so brief. Time seemed to go faster each and every year. Have we noticed?
A month into Syawal/August had me kick-started my base training back again. Two months off was enough to pamper this old skeleton but pampering it more will only make me weaker. Alhamdullilah. God gave me the will and strength to come back training every other weekend. It was only Sunday, only a day in 7 days, just for me to stressed and build up those cardiovascular capacity and strengthen those needed muscles. No, I don't need 2 to 3 times in a week to work out. I'd rather spend on other chores.
So far, four Sundays were spent building saddle time from 2 and half hours to 4 hours. The formula was a non-stop ride with minimal or short stops. We've been disciplining ourselves with the policy so far. And we shall have a step back week this month end for refuge and relax those working muscles.
Basically the floor plan is similar to any other base training programme i.e. marathon. 3-4 weeks building miles and time with a rest week to the end. And the cycle adds up a notch the following 4 weeks training.
I am presuming that this programme should be able to ready me for the Malacca Century Ride by end of October. No I don't planned anything superb or what, just wanting to enjoy the ride with zero suffer and regrets.
