It rained early morning yesterday. We also had electrical supply interruption for a few hours. The rain brought blessing. It was cooling despite the blackout and I continued my sleep mid morning enjoying the coolness.
Deep inside I was beginning to lack the spirit. I am in search of a bit of a booster. Motivation and inspiration to keep on running, at least for the remaining weeks up to race day. Or, I wish I could continue on running even after the race. I felt great. But sometimes we had to push aside some laziness that, would probably creeps in.
I ran this morning. 8 km. Legs felt good. Perhaps the result of Sunday's interval...? I hope so. 5 laps around the lake now seemed brief. That sounds good, right? But, a note to myself...
- Don't start a run with attempts to run fast. That includes high cadence. The heart rate will go chaotic and the feeling of struggling is not good.
- Run slow with a manageable steps. Not too short & not too far. Keep the tempo low. Calm & cool is the key.
- Must keep this mind every time.
Tomorrow is perhaps a shorter 5 km run before another 8 km on Friday. The weekend will be back in hometown. Would consider bringing along the running shoes and find a place to run a 14 km.
